Built in ORIOLO ROMANO (RM – LAZIO) around the end of the sixteenth
century by Giorgio di Santacroce, it was enlarged by the Altieri family
in 1674 under the papacy of Clement X, the most prestigious member
of the family. The palazzo is square in plan and has frescoes by illustrious
artists such as Federico Zuccari, Raffaellino da Reggio and Bertoja.
The highlight of the palazzo is unquestionably the Gallery of Popes
with its fine collection of portraits of the popes.
