This monastery in ROME (LAZIO) is heir to age-old traditions. Around
575 Gregory the Great transformed his patrician family house in Rome
into a monastery dedicating it to St. Andrew. It was however not until
the arrival of the Camaldolites in 1573 and their attempts at reclaiming
the area, that the monastery began to grow in importance.
